Software

Although you can install the counters without any software - indeed you may start off this way with a single door - most customers soon want the full benefits that the software can add to their initial investment.

The software suite transforms a basic manual counter and list of numbers into a management tool, allowing you to analyse trends and utilise your resource to the best effect.

Automatic Data Recording

The most obvious benefit of using the software is the automatic recording of data - not just once a day but continually (normally every 5 minutes). Rather than a single number at the end of each day - which someone must remember to write down - the software records data throughtout the day so you can see exactly when the counts occurred. This enables the reporter to generate a time profile of visitor throughput and/or movement within your premises each day - allowing you to see the busiest periods and plan your resources accordingly.

User Input

The software also adds the facility to record counts manually using the hotkeys on your computer keyboard. This is really useful for anything which cannot be recorded automatically - enquiries by post; customers asking a member of staff about particular products; - and allows the same reporting and analysis as the automated data.

Reporting

Apart from the automatic recording of data, extensive reporting facilities is the main reason to use the software.

Each type of input - from various sensors and hotkeys - is identified separately, as well as where it came from - for example if you have hotkeys setup on several computers. This allows you to see a full breakdown and identify the busiest parts of your business.

Live View

Where you have multiple counting devices it can be useful to see at a glance the number of visitors in different areas or rooms. Our software has the facility to show the current counts, in real time, overlayed on an image of your building layout.

Where you have dual-beam devices installed, which provide separate counts for people entering and leaving, LiveView automatically calculates the number of visitors in any particular area.

Sounds, Notifications, and Other Features

Input signals from the various sensors can trigger the system to play a sound - either a standard system sound, or any user-supplied sound file. This can be used to notify staff that someone has entered a particular area and might need attention; or it can be used, for example, to play an audio commentary when someone stands in front of a display.
